BCC advise Basildon Local Plan
Members of BCC were out in force on 10th May, reviewing “Route 7” for the Basildon District LCWIP (Local Cycling & Walking Infrastructure Plan). The LCWIP document helps town planners coordinate investment in local infrastructure when both public and private building projects are initiated.
Route 7 is a proposed cycling link from the Church Street/Grange Road junction in South Green, to Sun Corner. The group’s review of the route identified several issues and improvements. For example the steep part of Bell Hill is too narrow for an off-road bike lane but too busy for an on-road bike lane, so an alternative route via Windmill Heights was suggested.
